Anisyia Livejasmin – A Lovely Indoor Plant

Anisyia Livejasmin is relatively new species of Myristica fragrans. The name comes from the plant’s botanical name, Hyoscyamus Niger. Hyoscyamus Niger means “horny goat weed”. The plant is currently only known from the Brazilian rain forest, where it is growing in the Eributada do Guarulhado province. It is still quite delicate and not recommended for urban gardening.

I got my first view of this amazing plant through an internet article. After finally finding where it was, I went to Brazil to plant it. When I got there, I was thrilled to find it growing near my house. I brought it as a gift. I decided to repot it since I did not want it to spread all over the place. Here is how I took care of it.

I found out that I didn’t need to worry about killing the plant because it will simply cut itself once it gets to the second division. I gently separated the two divisions. The plant then dried up and I put it in a pot. I didn’t add any soil at all. It needs less light but more humidity.

I had to moisten the pot after putting the anisyia in it. I put some water on the leaves and let them stay like that for a week. Then I transferred it into a grow bag. During the transfer, I twisted the leaves a bit to make sure they don’t break. If you do that, the plant might try to escape. Once it is in the grow bag, I loosely cover it with soil and lightly water it.

When the plant starts to bloom, it is a beautiful purple. It blooms about six weeks after it is transplanted. I think it took me about two weeks just to get the plant to that point. It turned out beautiful. However, my husband did notice that it needed a little something before we put it into our home.

He took the plant out and cleaned it. The anisyia has a strong scent, so he smells it when he walks by. I think he also put a little birdseed in the bottom of the grow bag. We decided to give the plant a few days to grow out of it. Now we have a gorgeous purple flowering plant in our living room.

This plant grows pretty fast. It can grow up to four feet tall. It can produce flowers in as little as nine days. Since I have only given this plant its initial home, I don’t know how much longer it will last. I’m not sure if we will ever find out. I have found that it prefers acidic soil.

If you are looking for an indoor plant that won’t take over your house, don’t worry. Anisyia livejasmin is a beautiful plant that does very well in a home or a pot outside. I would recommend trying it if you want to have some beautiful flowers in your garden.
